Join the private party aboard a spacious Fury catamaran, the official turn boat of the 29th Annual Key West World Championship Powerboat Race. Get revved up for this high-octane day of fun in the sun as the world’s fastest powerboats zoom around you at speeds up to 100 miles per hour. There’s really no better place to experience this adrenaline-pumping event than right on the water where all the action takes place.

3 power boats

The experience is like sitting in a luxury box seat at the Indy 500. Instead of a racetrack, though, Key West’s tropical waters surround you. Enjoy sunbathing on the deck of a ship while your friendly Fury crew attends to your every need. And don’t forget to cheer those powerboats on!

We’ll start the morning off right with race day mimosas and a breakfast buffet while we place friendly wagers on which boat will take home the cup. Free-flowing beer, wine, and wine spritzers are available throughout this all-day event and a catered lunch is also provided. For only $20 more, upgrade your ticket to a full bar option and we’ll mix up whatever you like.

If you’ve never experienced the thrill of powerboat racing, the Key West World Championship Powerboat Race is a great chance to see the top competitors in the field. Aboard our Fury catamaran, you’ll be so close to the action, you’ll almost taste the sea spray in the air as these machines churn up the harbor for a three-day spectacle not to be missed. Join us for a day or save with our two and three-day packages. This event is sure to sell out fast, so don’t delay.

Fury’s Guide to Fantasy Fest Parties

October 23 - November 1

Fantasy Fest PartiersIt happens once a year. During the last week of October, Key West’s population swells and revelers descend on our island paradise to play out their wildest fantasies. That’s right, Fantasy Fest is right around the corner. From body paint and scandalous costumes to wild parties and the big parade, the week of Halloween is never more fun than in Key West. With this year’s theme: Villains, Vixens, & Vampires, the Fury crew is excited about the possibilities.

Whether you’re a Fantasy Fest diehard or considering joining the fun for the first time this year, we’d like to give you the inside info on the best parties that locals love every year. Start thinking about your costumes now… and as the saying goes, “Less is more!”

Friday & Saturday October 23 & 24
Goombay Festival

The Fantasy Fest pre-party begins on Petronia Street in the heart of historic Bahama Village. This all day street fair features food and drink vendors, craftspeople, and live music and entertainment. The Fury crew flocks to husband and wife duo and Fury mates, Eli and Kenna’s drink stand, where they serve delicious rum punch and mojitos. Blue Heaven, the eponymous backyard bar and restaurant, always rocks a lively Goombay scene too.

Wednesday October 28
Hog’s Breath Homemade Bikini Contest

This contest holds a special place in our hearts as our own Fury Girl is Homemade Bikini Contest royalty. Come to compete or to cheer the girls on as they strut their stuff in the most creative bikinis you’ve ever seen. We’re still waiting for someone to top Fury Girl’s snorkel masks and dive flag!

Fogarty’s Red Party

Fogarty’s is a hot spot amongst locals throughout the week of Fantasy Fest, but nothing compares to Wednesday night’s Red Party. Wear your best and brightest red and dance the night away to a live DJ. This is the party you will be talking about all year long.

Thursday October 29
Sloppy Joe’s Toga Party

Whether you’re inside the most famous bar in Key West or crawling down Duval Street, Thursday night Fantasy Fest always means toga. Strip the sheets, wrap yourself up, and head downtown!

Saturday October 31
The Parade

This year’s parade falls on Halloween (and check-in girl Becky’s birthday) and is certain to inspire wild costumes. Last year, savvy Fury crew members managed to watch the parade twice. Catamaran/parasail mate Zac and girlfriend Katie’s family always rent a condo in Truman Annex where the parade begins. Once it’s run its course, the crew heads over to parasail mate Stephen’s apartment at the end of the parade route. His balcony, overlooking lower Duval Street, has VIP written all over it!

These parties are only the icing on the cake and there is certainly more debauchery to be found throughout the week of Fantasy Fest. Come on down and don’t be afraid to let your freak flag fly!

Meeting of the Minds Sunset Sail

November 7th, 2009 at 5pm

singer/songwriter scott kirby performingAlthough everyday in Key West could be described as “Wasting away again in Margaritaville…”, the Parrotheads' Meeting of the Minds only happens once a year on this southernmost rock. While plenty of partying takes place up and down Duval Street during the annual event, Jimmy Buffet fans can live the dream aboard the most unique and intimate music venue in Key West.

For the first time ever, Fury Water Adventures is proud to present Scott Kirby on its annual Meeting of the Minds Sunset Sail. Kirby is a singer/songwriter and finger style guitarist who rocks beach folk music that is sure to delight the most devout Parrothead. He has collaborated with a number of songwriters, including Peter Mayer and Roger Guth of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. Sail through the Key West Harbor while the sun slowly sinks into the sea and feel like a real “Son of a Son of a Sailor.”

Fury will take care of you in true Key West style with all you can drink margaritas, of course. Also available is plenty of beer, wine, wine spritzers and champagne, along with a smorgasbord of tasty appetizers.

Come aboard and sing along to your favorite familiar tunes as well as Scott’s entertaining storyteller originals. This year you only have one opportunity to see this unforgettable concert; so clear your calendar for November 7 and book your ticket fast. If you’re a serious Parrothead, you already know that this show is not to be missed.

As past guests have claimed, it will be the best thing you do while in town for the annual Meeting of the Minds; so book your trip with Fury and snag a “front of the deck” seat to this open-air, open-water concert event. Test that old theory out for yourself about “changes in latitudes and changes in attitudes” as you sail past the southernmost point aboard a state-of-the-art Fury catamaran.

A Look Back at Womenfest 2009

Ladies Only Ultimate Adventure

key west music djPost-Labor Day in Key West meant one thing: Womenfest! Every year the babes invade the island for a little fun in the sun. For gals looking for a water adventure, Fury had them covered with exclusive girls-only trips!

We started the party off right with our Ladies Only Ultimate Adventure. Captain Westy and his (almost) all female crew hosted about 60 ladies on our popular all day trip. The gals enjoyed a continental breakfast as Westy sailed out to the stunning coral reef where everyone enjoyed a morning snorkel in our pristine waters. Next, the crew headed out to Adventure Island for an afternoon of parasailing, jet skiing, and kayaking, not to mention all the fun of our inflatable water trampoline and rock-climbing wall.

For the true party girls, Fury also offered two exclusive sunset cruises for the ladies to enjoy. Friday night was the Tea Dance with DJ Pride spinning the best in-house music as a soundtrack to the setting sun. On Saturday, Michelle Dravis rocked the boat with her eclectic guitar set. Of course, you can’t have a sunset without frosty libationsl; so our crew circulated all night with pitchers of beer, wine, wine spritzers, and of course champagne!

Womenfest has proved to be a great time every year. We hope the ladies are excited to return next year for Fury’s special activities. We know our crew will be looking forward to it!
