There is no denying that this island has heated up in a flash over the last couple of weeks. While many lament the humidity and the sweltering sun, most of us at Fury are thrilling over ideal conditions on the water. Hot sun, cool ocean, soft breeze, calm seas, and unlimited visibility at the reef.

It was a decidedly balmy evening as former Fury check-in dude Ryan Schmedeman wed Ashleigh Cline (parasail mate Justin’s sister) at the idyllic Southernmost House. The intimate ceremony was conducted with the placid waters of the Atlantic as the backdrop. In Key West we are famous for our spectacular Key West sunsets, but a full moon is something to howl at and tonight is the night! Fishermen are excited to reel in a prime catch and parties are popping up all over Duval Street. Of course, Fury’s got you covered with a rocking good party at sea. When the Commotion on the Ocean returns to the dock tonight at the Ocean Key House, our crew will be ready for a quick turnaround. Memorial Day Weekend marks the official start of summer, and in Key West we’re gearing up for a thriving season. This weekend marked the 13th Annual Key West Paddleboard Classic, and the second year that Fury’s own Captain Westy has headed the event. Over 150 paddlers descended for the 12 mile race around the island, nearly doubling the turnout from the previous year. Read the rest of this entry »
Apparently there’s a new trend in wedding traditions. After a couple gets married, instead of stashing the white dress and tux in the back of the closet, they partake in a crazy activity and “trash the dress.” We had two couples from Napa, California join us for parasailing this week with just that in mind! The 15th annual Songwriters Festival got underway last night at the Ocean Key Resort and continues through the weekend. Featuring some of the most influential songwriters and musicians from Nashville and around the country, the festival is a highlight for any music lover’s.
This week marked another historic moment for Fury Water Adventures as our fifth parasail boat—that’s right, FIFTH!—arrived in Key West early Monday morning. The fleet is complete again! After spending the winter months in a New Orleans boatyard, the Atlantic Fury has returned to her slip into the Key West sunset. The Massacoustics have long had a strong following in Key West, performing regularly at Hogs Breath, the Songwriter’s Festival, and most recently aboard the Commotion on the Ocean. They headlined a sold out sunset earlier this month. I’ll admit, I’d heard the buzz about the Massacoustics for years, but I’d never seen them perform.
