Here are the best spots for tacos and margaritas on the island:
Amigo’s Tortilla Bar: Make this your first stop for Amigo’s signature square corn tortillas. Fill them with chicken, beef, shrimp, fish or veggies and an assortment of salsas and other toppings. They’ve also got a great variety of nachos and burritos. Grab a stool along the bar overlooking the street for prime people watching.
Kelly’s Caribbean: Kelly’s boasts the best margaritas on the island. They make them with key lime on the rocks with salt. While anytime is great to grab a drink at their open air bar or to dine in their patio, happy hour can’t be beat. Pair your margaritas on special with an order of their spicy buffalo or Thai-seasoned wings for a delicious combo. You definitely get a bang for your buck!
Salsa Loca: This is the classic local’s favorite for Mexican food in Key West. It’s a no frills kind of a spot and the grub is a little on the greasy side, but it will sate that Mexican food craving with taco and enchilada combos served with rice and refried beans and more!
Top of La Concha: This is another great spot to sip a margarita with incredible views of Key West. At six stories high, it’s the tallest building on the island and it’s an especially great place to watch the sunset with a bird’s eye views of the harbor. The margarita’s salted rim is dipped in a sour mix for an extra kick when it hits your lips.
Bad Boy Burrito: You’ll have to get here before the sunset sail as this all natural burrito joint closes at 6pm. It’s the perfect spot for a filling lunch of healthy, fresh, organic burritos. The salsas are homemade with authentic Mexican flavors and you can fill it with fresh caught fish, kobe beef, Key West pinks, chicken or a variety of veggies. They also make a great taco platter with homemade corn tortillas.
