On September 7th we had the pleasure of taking Nikko Zollar, from Machesney Park, IL and his family on our Glass Bottom Boat Reef tour aboard Fury’s Pride of Key West. Nikko’s father Kyle, his mother Mindi, brother Izaiah and Aunt Lisa all joined in on the fun! To start off his magical day, Captain Brian along with crew mates Mike and Carrie presented Nikko with his honorary Captain of the day certificate.

Once the Pride of Key West departed from the dock, Nikko and his family took in the beautiful sights with the Key West harbor in the distance while crew mate Mike told everyone all about the history of the island. Upon approaching the reef, Nikko took over the wheel for Captain Brian to give him a little break. Nikko ended up finding the perfect spot for viewing all the fish and corals! Crew mate Carrie educated everyone about the coral and how important it is to protect the coral reefs. Did you know it can take coral reefs hundreds or even thousands of years to grow? That’s crazy! Along with seeing many corals they also saw lots of fish!

After learning all about the Key West reef and creatures, Captain Brian let Nikko take over the wheel once again. But don’t worry! Captain Brian made sure he was heading in the right direction to get everyone back safely.

We would like to thank Nikko Zollar and his family, A Special Wish Foundation, and our awesome Fury crew for making the day so memorable for everyone!
